TR2571W integrates WLAN MAC controller, Baseband processor and USB2.0 interface in single chip. The integrated USB 2.0 controller reduces the cost and design complexity. No extra memory device is needed. It can fit into small PCB form factor.

TR2571W can operate in the mode of station and access point. It can fit to feature demand in different WLAN applications. TR2571W is WLAN USB Adapter which fully supports the features and functional compliance of IEEE 802.11b/g standard.
It enables the deployment the latest updated WMMTM (Wi-Fi Multimedia)standard and is designed to provide good performance with minimum power consumption and enhance the advantages of robust system and cost-effective. Mac USB Wireless Dongle for old iMac DV special Edition/OS X 10.3

The Mac wireless dongle really works with my old iMac DV special Edition good (OS X 10.3 loaded). A problem was: I could the dongle not directly plug in because the two USB connections are placed to deep in a to small opening. The solution was to by a adapter cable. This has an advantage too: I can move the dongle and look for the best position of it. A disadvantage is that I must unplug the dongle for each new start, otherwise the net does not click on. Internet and Mail work and Skype can I use partly too (phone).
I equip my old iMac DV SE 500 MHz 128/30G/DVD with TR2571W dongle

I like to a acquire for my iMac G3 this TR2571W dongle and try it out with AirPort Express. If it works it would be great. The operating distance between Airport Express and the G3 iMac will be about 20 meters through two windows.
